A very nice pair of Mino school Japanese menuki. These menuki are carved in the typical Mino motif of a floral arrangement. The larger one is 1.75 inches or 4.4 cm in length and it depicts not only a group of chrysanthemums done in gold, silver, and copper but also a strip of paper with a poem that is done in silver. The smaller of the two menuki measures 1.5 inches or 3.8 cm and it depicts a grouping of flowers of various types that are also done in gold, silver, and copper. All in all, very delicate and pretty work.
