SWORD CLUBS AND ORGANIZATIONS
The NCJSC was founded by John M. Yumoto (among others) in the early 1960’s, and incorporated as a nonprofit educational organization in June of 1976. An outstanding monthly newsletter is published for its members. The NCJSC hosts an annual Japanese sword show in August in the San Francisco area.
The Nihon Bijutsu Token Hozon Kyokai (NBTHK) is the Society for the Preservation of Japanese Art Swords located in Tokyo, Japan. The American Branch of the NBTHK is one of only two Branches that have been organized by authority of the NBTHK outside Japan, the other being the European Branch.
The JSSUS is one of the oldest sword organizations in the USA.
