This is a very nice tsuka for a handachi wakizashi. The total length is 7.5 inches or 19.1 cm. The mekugi ana is 1 3/8 inches or 3.5 cm from the edge of the fuchi. The fuchi and kashira are of dark shakudo of high quality and are emblazoned with golden dragons carved in very high relief. Very striking, indeed. The menuki are made of shakudo and gold with one being a persimmon and the other a flower blossom. The ito is dark black and in excellent condition with no fraying. The same is of good grade and shows good age. There is only one small area of loss to the same at the mekugi ana, but this is to be expected with age and use and can be repaired. Overall, this is a very high grade tsuka with great kodogu.
