I am pleased to offer thsi very attractive fuchi and kashira by the Hamano artist Shigeyuki. His name can also be read Kunzui. He worked in Edo around 1800. He worked in the Hamano schools tyle and even signed occasionally as Fukushi (meaning an assistant Samurai) so he was obviously of the Samurai class. This set is very typical of the Hamano style with figures stylishly dressed. It is made of shibuichi and is in very good condition. The kashira measures 1 3/16 inches or 3 cm by 9/16 inches or 1.4 cm. The fuchi measures 1 3/8 inches or 3.4 cm by 11/16 inches or 1.9 cm. These are all inside measurements.
