This tsuba is from the Higo Jingo school. It measures 2 ¾ inches by 2 11/16 inches or 7 cm by 6.9 cm. The design is a koi in a waterfall which is a classic Jingo motif. There is nunome zogan on the tail and again on the back side on the botan blossom. The NBTHK, in awarding the Hozon paper, has used the Kanji for Go that they say represents 3rd or later generation work. One of the hitsu-ana has been plugged with a gold washed copper filler.
As noted, it comes with NBTHK Hozon papers and it is housed in a custom made fitted wooden box
